University of South Florida President Rhea Law Plans to Retire

On February 17, 2025, USF President Rhea Law announced she plans to step down after a successor is appointed.  An attorney, Law was first appointed as interim president in August 2021 and then appointed to the post permanently in March 2022.


Law was a founding member of the USF Board of Trustees, serving as vice chair for five years and as chair for four years. 


In addition to working in private law firms, she was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to serve as General Counsel to the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority.


Law earned a JD from Stetson University School of Law.
