James “JD” Fisher Appointed Interim President of PennWest University

D Fisher, who currently serves as interim vice chancellor and chief academic officer in the chancellor’s office of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, has been named as the interim President of PennWest University.
Fisher is not new to PennWest, having previously served as its associate provost for academic administration, and as interim dean of the College of Health and Human Services. Prior to that he was interim provost and interim associate provost at Edinboro University, where we also a professor of politics and legal studies for more than two decades during which time he also served as chair of the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice.
He earned his JD from William & Mary Law School and a PhD in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
