Tiffany Hernandez, JD, PhD will assume the presidency of Glendale Community College in Arizona in July 2023. Dr. Hernandez currently serves as the Vice President for Student Success at San Antonio College. Previously she served San Antonio College as Vice President for Student Success; Department Chairperson for the Public Policy and Service department overseeing the Criminal Justice, Political Science, Human Services, Court Reporting, and Public Administration programs; and as tenured faculty in the Criminal Justice program.
In announcing the appointment, MCCCD Chancellor Dr. Steven R. Gonzales said, “Dr. Hernandez’s collaborative leadership style will positively impact students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding GCC community as we work together to expand our in-demand workforce programs and training opportunities.”
Prior to entering academia, Hernandez served as a Deputy County Attorney in the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office in Arizona, and a veteran, she served on active duty and as a reservist in the United States Air Force.
Dr. Hernandez earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah College of Law, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in criminal justice from Texas State University.
